Good questions. Simple answers.

A few things to know before you get started.

Which side should I use first?

The Hooman side is the easier starting point. The food-pattern Pizza side offers a more involved licking challenge. Choose based on how comfortably your dog can reach the food, rather than aiming for the longest session.

What can I spread on a lick mat?

Start with a small amount of wet dog food your dog already tolerates, counted within their daily food allowance. If using peanut butter, check every ingredient label: xylitol is toxic to dogs. For a dog with allergies or a prescribed diet, ask your veterinarian which foods fit that diet.

Can I freeze Pick & Lick?

Yes. Pick & Lick can be frozen with a suitable spread. Start with a thin layer and offer it under supervision. A thicker or more frozen serving may be harder to use; make it easier if your dog becomes frustrated.

Why won't the suction cups stick?

Check for food residue on the cups and the surface, then press the cups down again on a smooth area. Textured, porous or uneven surfaces may not seal. If it still moves or a cup is damaged, stop and choose a stable setup.

How do I clean the grooves?

Remove leftover food, wash the mat and gently brush residue out of the grooves and suction cups. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry. Pick & Lick is dishwasher safe. Inspect for tears or loose pieces before reuse.

Is this a chew toy?

No. It is designed for licking. Stay with your dog, remove it if they begin chewing the mat, and stop using a damaged mat. For a supervised edible chew activity instead, explore our bully stick holders.
